Usually it goes something like this:
SON: Daddy, my tank is attacking your tank.
DAD: Well I have 100 tanks.
SON: Well I have a thousand.
DAD: Well I have a million.
SON: I have a billion, no trillion, no… (pause) Daddy what comes after trillion?
It is time you learned the answer to this important question lest all your games come to a screeching halt. Even if you never took Latin or don’t remember it, you can learn some of the prefixes. It goes like this:
A decillion is a 1 followed by 33 zeros:
Of course you will also need to know the biggest number there is. You can use the term “googol” (note real spelling of this term) for this. A googol is a 1 followed by 100 zeros, or 10 to the hundredth power (10100).
Googolplex: If you really really want to push it to the extreme (and what kid doesn’t) you can top a googol with a googolplex. A googolplex is 10 to the googol power, or a 1 followed by a googol zeros: 10googol, or equivalently, 10(10100).
Carl Sagan once noted that if you wanted to write out that number with all its zeroes, there is not enough space in the known universe to do so. Even if you wrote them really small. All the zeroes side by side would extend off the paper, out the door, down the street and across the entire known universe, passing Jupiter, the Milky Way and everything beyond and it still would keep going. A googolplex is more than the number of atoms in the entire universe. So if you had that many tanks in your army you would probably win.
